I’m happy to join you tonight at the second annual Champions of the Chesapeake dinner, on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service and the 10th anniversary of the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail.  It is hard to believe, but this is my 12th year working on conservation in the Chesapeake. 50th Anniversary Event

On May 22, 2015, Chesapeake Conservancy’s President & CEO Joel Dunn joined U.S. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell; Congressman Steny Hoyer; Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Director Neil Kornze; and Secretary of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Mark Belton,
at an event highlighting the 50th Anniversary of the Land and Water Conservation Fund at Maryland’s Douglas Point, an area made possible by the fund. Read his remarks here.

Connecting Trails Designation
