As executive vice president of external affairs, Mark Conway oversees the organization’s activities in the areas of government relations and community support. He works closely with the president and CEO and the board of directors to provide strategic direction and help the team accomplish the organization’s mission.
Previously, Conway was the executive director for Baltimore Tree Trust where he was responsible for expanding programs and securing $2.7 million from grants, corporations, individual funding and earned revenue. He also led the City of Baltimore’s implementation of OutcomeStat as deputy director of CitiStat.
While completing his master’s degree in public policy at the University of Maryland, Conway conducted research at the EPA on high-impact, low-cost solutions for cleaning up the Chesapeake Bay.
Conway is the Baltimore City Councilman for District 4 and serves on the board of directors of Forever Maryland. He holds a master’s degree in public policy and a bachelor’s degree in government, politics and philosophy from the University of Maryland.
Conway lives in Baltimore with his wife, two children and a mischievous dog. In his spare time, he enjoys visiting Patterson Park with his family and enjoys hiking and camping.
