As director of institutional giving, Aleks Stankovic builds partnerships with foundations and corporations to achieve Chesapeake Conservancy’s bold mission and goals. Prior to joining the Chesapeake Conservancy, Stankovic served for two decades in a variety of fundraising roles at The Nature Conservancy, including raising major gifts for conservation work in the Caribbean, Central America and Mexico, as well as leading a team of planned giving fundraisers.

Stankovic also held fundraising roles at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, AARP Andrus Foundation and the American Association of University Women Educational Foundation.

A resident of Arlington, Virginia for many years, Stankovic has spent much of her life in the Chesapeake Bay watershed, growing up in Pennsylvania and graduating from Georgetown University. Being in or on the water are some of Stankovic’s most favorite outdoor activities when she isn’t chasing solar eclipses, comets or the aurora borealis.
