Chesapeake Conservancy Applauds the Reintroduction of the Chesapeake Bay Science, Education and Ecosystem Enhancement (SEEE) Act

Washington, DC – Chesapeake Conservancy President and CEO Joel Dunn issued this statement regarding the reintroduction of the Chesapeake Bay Science, Education and Ecosystem Enhancement (SEEE) Act.

“I applaud Congressman Sarbanes, Congressman Scott, Congressman Wittman, and Senator Warner for their leadership on the SEEE Act to support the NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office."NOAA is an important Chesapeake Bay partner that leverages scientific expertise to provide invaluable research and data on Chesapeake Bay species and habitats. NOAA’s science and restoration efforts help the Bay’s beloved wildlife, like oysters. NOAA also helps train and inspire the environmental leaders of tomorrow through the B-WET program, and it provides real-time data to boaters and sailors on the the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail through the Interpretive Buoy System.”
